Quoted from Crevox of tales.namco.com
Here we go again. Some of you may have known me for making the Tales of Graces menu patch. I never finished the entire menu due to the game being translated completely by another group, and I was satisfied with how much was done.
So, I decided to move on to this. This is only a menu translation patch. If someone else wants to be pro and translate the whole thing, kudos to them, but I'm just providing a patch that will help people play through the game for what they can. Don't expect it to translate EVERYTHING, but I will translate as much as I can. Please do not yell at me to translate "this" or "that." I am working at my own pace and getting as much done as I can. It is a CONSTANT work in progress, much like the Tales of Graces patch was, and you can expect big changes very fast. I will be releasing as I go.
I happily accept bug reports and suggestions. Feedback makes me happy and drives me forward.
THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS. THERE IS MUCH TO BE DONE.

INSTRUCTIONS:
You will need custom firmware to use this patch.
1) Backup your ISO file onto your computer.
2) Open your ISO in UMDGen.
3) Open the PSP_GAME folder, and then the SYSDIR folder.
4) Right click EBOOT.OLD and press "Apply PPF patch to Selected File."
5) Choose top_eboot_v008.ppf, and press Apply. Close UMDGen when it says it has patched the file.
6) Open PPF-o-matic.
7) Under ISO file, click the disk and select your ISO.
8) Under Patch, click the disk and select the top_iso_v008.ppf file.
9) Click "Apply." Your game is now patched!
DISCLAIMER:
1) This game has some requirements to bypass to run on custom firmware. I will provide no support in doing this, only applying the patch.
2) This patch is confirmed to work on a PSP. If the game does not load for you, then something is wrong with your method of loading backups. I personally will provide no support in loading the game, but hopefully others will.
3) I will not help you get custom firmware on your PSP.
4) Nothing in the patch is final. Anything can be changed at any time for any reason.
PICTURES (may not be up to date):
I hope the patch helps you. :)

@Evann
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm the same guy. If you found someone having "gm_rusaku", "GM_Rusaku", "gmrusaku" or just "Rusaku" as a username then that will be 100% me. ^_^

ReplyDeletebut as for me.. if you seen my username as "Evann" "EvannGeo" Evanngeostrem "Xervah" that's me :)
does narikiri x really working?
ReplyDeletewell as far as i have heard the system used here is the one used in the ToD remake director's cut which i think it AMLBS (aerial milti-linear battle system)
ReplyDeleteit is similar, while i think ndx is harder to handle in the air(in the demo i found it quite hard with some costumes)
ReplyDeleteso far the game's working just fine in my psp..no probs yet..or I hope there won't be any prob..
ReplyDeletemine's perfectly fine on bout....

ReplyDelete@Evann
ReplyDeleteI can only log for a few minutes on weekends so yeah. T_T
not mention that you have to edit the instruction that crevox wrote earlier
ReplyDeleteCrevox note:
I'm really sorry it's so confusing.
I'm dumb, and didn't realize UMDGen had a built in PPF patcher.
I'll make new instructions.
1) Backup your ISO file onto your computer.
2) Open UMDGen, and open your ISO.
3) Open the PSP_GAME folder in UMDGen. Then open the SYSDIR folder.
4) Right click "EBOOT.OLD" and press "Apply PPF Patch" (at the bottom). Choose the ppf file from my rar you downloaded, then press apply.
5) Your game is now patched. Put it on your PSP and enjoy.
Thanks to naraninjutsu for realizing my stupidity. :)
@Evann
ReplyDeleteOh, must have missed that. I'll edit the main post then. (now quoting Crevox's post.)
I'm starting to remember a game in PS2 which really looks like this..hmmmm the main character's name was Zenel if I remembered correctly but that game features button commands during battle..
ReplyDelete@kasmi
ReplyDeleteSenel is from Tales of Legendia, I think that's what you're remembering.
@gmrusaku
ReplyDeleteyup..I guess that's it...they look the same..well they're both tales series..hehe
i would prefer to Tales of Rebirth than Tales of Legendia though...
ReplyDeleteahh.. this is the one I really need, good job
ReplyDeletemenu translation only?
ReplyDelete@ajee
ReplyDeleteyep...

ReplyDeleteUpdated the post...
ReplyDeleteyet another release has come up, v0.10 http://tales.namco.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=85140&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=135&sid=9e2d14767936aa7998d2cfda35d3140a
ReplyDeleteUpdated the main post.
ReplyDeleteso it's fully patched to english?
ReplyDelete@kasmi
ReplyDeletethe guy who is translating the game is only translating mainly everything but the script to my understanding so have to wait for some other translator to do the script portion.
He has told us on the forum he wont do the new phantasia remake.
ReplyDeleteWhat Evann meant was the patch for the CFW compatibility, not the translation. ^_^
ReplyDeleteUpdate all the links, the links are broken
